Check your credit report.

See what lenders are likely to see before you apply. A report from checkmyfile brings together data from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion in one place.

Before you click

The link opens the checkmyfile website, where you register your details. The report is free for the first 30 days. After the free trial, checkmyfile charges £14.99 a month unless you cancel, which you can do at any time.

Why we ask for it.

Your report lets us understand your credit history, so we can research the right lenders and give you a recommendation that fits.

It is especially useful if you have had missed payments, defaults or CCJs, or if you are not sure what is on your file. Knowing early saves surprises later.

Lenders will not use this report when they assess your application. They carry out their own checks on your credit history.

Good to know

  • Checking your own report does not affect your credit score.
  • If you spot a mistake, you can ask the credit reference agency to correct it.
  • Remember to cancel within 30 days if you do not want to keep the subscription.
